I bought this C7 Corvette Stingray in 2014. I quickly installed a full Borla exhaust and Hennessey HPE650 supercharger upgrade. I also powder-coated some components red. This car was never put on a dyno but Hennessey claims 653 bhp @ 6,300 rpm * 642 lb-ft torque @ 4,000 rpm * · Performance: 0-60 mph: 3.4 sec. 1/4 mile: 11.4 sec with a weight of 3,362 lbs.
Ultimately this was the car that got me into the track starting with High Performance Driving Schools and working my way up through the classes. I took it many times to Lime Rock Park & Watkins Glen from NYC on weekends. Ultimately this car had a lot of issues with keeping its transmission cool. It was the first year c7, automatic model (a mistake). It overheated after just a few laps on the track each track session. I tried larger side vents (red) from the Z06 to funnel in more air, and a much larger cooling fan on the transmission but nothing would help. It was an unbelievable street car, but it was not very usable on track, even while stock (before it had the supercharger) due to these transmission-related overheating issues, which worsened as the car aged. I ultimately would track in 4th gear (without ever changing gears) which was a lot of fun while learning but not a great experience.
I eventually had to sell the car to fund my startup at the time which left me without a car for a few years.
